Like it better than the iPod Touch becasue you don't have to look at the screen to make selections. Also stores much more music and video than the Touch for a lot less money.
"Does well" 2010-06-05

Not much new to say about the classic iPod by now. This is a solid, standard, video iPod. I have had zero problems with it so far except slightly delayed loading time when moving around screens. This, however, is because it is not using only flash memory, so it is to be expected what with the moving parts and all. Otherwise, it works just fine and is everything you expect.
"rubbish product from a rubbish company" 2010-05-20

My strong advice is not to buy this product or any other ipod classic. I've had mine for 11 months and it suddenly developed a problem synchronising with itunes - their latest update. Research indicates this is a widespread problem which apple refuses to acknowledge. I spent at least 30 hours going through their recommended retrieval procedures to no avail. I contacted apple support. Their first reaction was to deny they had liability of any kind. But luckily for me my classic is still within warranty. I sent it back for repair. Less than 24 hours later, it was returned to me with a letter saying there was no problem!!! I plugged it into to itunes and what do you know it crashed again. It's not my PC or my version of itunes as I have two ipod nanos which work fine - even the unhelpful people on the helpline acknowledge this to be so (they ought to call it an unhelpline). I am now intent on getting my money back. And I want to warn other potential buyers to tread VERY carefully before parting with their hard earned money for this rubbish product. Most of the positive reviews on amazon are from buyers who have not had their ipods long enough to experieince this problem. Literally THOUSANDS of people are in the same position as me. Check it out for yourself if you dont believe me - start with apple's own user web boards.
